General Digital™ requires first-time customers to purchase our power supply module and associated power cables on initial delivery to ensure proper configuration and power distribution. Customers may omit the power supply and/or associated cabling from the final configuration for future deliveries only after an alternate power management scheme has been submitted to, and approved by, General Digital™ Corporation.

Overview

General Digital™ offers the OEM Monitor Kit as a technology facilitator. In its native form, the OEM Monitor Kit is intentionally designed as the most basic turnkey monitor General Digital™ can produce. Unlike many of our other LCD monitor offerings, the OEM Monitor Kit™ is comprised of the bare necessities and does not include features such as a protective enclosure, thermal management, etc. The kit is intended to offer you, our OEM customers, with a low cost, turnkey product that can be easily integrated into your existing products, consoles, protective enclosures or kiosks. You may be required to contribute engineering content to your final installation to address issues of EMI, heat or safety.

AMTFT LCD Screens

General Digital™ integrates the latest advances in LCD display technology from 6.4" to 12.1" (diagonal viewing area) panels. These panels provide the equivalent viewing area of much larger CRTs. All of our active matrix TFT LCD screens offer a minimum of 262,000 colors, a wide viewing angle, and fast response time (suitable for live video). We qualify multiple sources of supply to ensure product availability and long life.

Video Support

All standard OEM Monitor Kits™ support non-interlaced analog video (separate, composite, sync-on-green). Interlaced video is supported as a standard feature on select models. Also supported is STANAG 3350 A analog RGB interlaced sync-on-green video.

Live Video Support

The OEM Monitor Kit™ can be optionally configured to support NTSC, SECAM, PAL and RS-170 video in composite video or S-video format. The response time of the active matrix TFT makes it the ideal platform for live video input.

High Performance LCD Controller

The OEM Monitor Kit™ is configured with an LCD video controller that converts analog video signals into the proper signals required to drive the LCD panel of choice. General Digital™ offers LCD video controllers capable of supporting both analog and digital LCD displays. It is the LCD video controller that enables the LCD monitor to function as a direct replacement for the traditional CRT. The controller provides intuitive operation of its controls and calibration through the use of a pushbutton or membrane calibration pad and a series of on-screen menus. All models support the following display image controls: auto and manual setup, brightness, contrast, horizontal position, vertical position, tuning, size, individual RGB adjust, image expansion on/off, system information, and signal level. Advanced features are supported on a selective basis (image rotate and invert, audio controls, advanced scaling).

Sturdy Mounting Frame/Panel

The LCD display, control electronics and cabling are all secured to a sturdy, metal mounting frame, which facilitates installation.
